Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers

YMG QGIS Users Group

  • April 28, 2017
  • 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
  • ICON (7000 S. Yosemite Street)

Join us for our first Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers (CASFM) Young Members User’s Group, Friday April 28th at 1 PM. Each session will feature an introduction to a different program and allow YMG members to discuss problems they have had while using the program. The first User’s Group will feature QGIS, a free and open source GIS application that provides data viewing, editing, and analysis capabilities.

Jeremy Deischer of ICON Engineering will give an overview of the program, create and style some example shapefiles, and produce an exhibit of the example data.  The class will be tailored for people with little to no GIS experience but even an advanced GIS User should get plenty out of the session.

If you have a laptop feel free to bring it and work along through the exercises. For those who don't have a laptop we will have a projector set up. For those unable to make it in person we will try to host the class through a webinar program.

Please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested in learning more about an open source alternative to ArcMap.

If you are able to attend please RSVP to casfmymg@gmail.comIn the email please let me know if you will be attending in person or are planning on listening to the webinar. The YMG will provide lunch to those who can attend in person.

Hope to see everyone on the 28th!
